Workplace ethics supports corporate sustainable development within the goal of meeting the needs and aspirations of the organizational stakeholders. This book examines the role of business ethics on organizational sustainability. It also sought to ascertain the effect of managing unethical behaviour on organizational performance, as well as asses the effect of social responsibility on organisational stakeholders. Findings from the logistic regression revealed that business ethics, managing unethical practices and social responsibility positively affected organisational sustainability, performance and stakeholders respectively. Consequently, it was recommended that ethics and accountability be promoted through the enactment, improvement and effective enforcement of codes of ethics and regulations. In addition, organisational managers should maintain a balance that responds to the concerns of all stakeholders and the society in general.
Business ethics being part of the larger social ethics, always been affected by the ethics of the era. At dissimilar times of the world, people, particularly leaders of the world, were blind to ethics and morality which were clearly unethical to the succeeding period.
It is well known that many companies may go bankrupt because of lack of a well-established overall strategy, poor quality of products, lack of innovation, focus on gaining immediate profit etc but is seems that nowadays ethics is strongly influencing business success. The study conducted reveals that implications of ethics in business are reaching a high level and they are more complex than presumed, ethical behavior bringing significant benefits to a business.
In order to survive and grow in the market, moral values is one thing which must be taken into consideration along with the vision set up by the organization. In todays era business are growing because they are satisfying the needs of consumers in terms of technology, after sales services etc, the happen because the organizations are in search of the first mover advantage and react accordingly. As most are doing now a days every organization is working on the ethics to be complied with by caring for the environment and their customers as well. In this regard, alignment of business ethics and vison of the organization is a major factor which leads to the growth of the organization.
